Our admitting process is important to ensure that you have a good experience. The information requested is needed to verify the accuracy of your address and health insurance information. Some of the questions may seem odd or repetitive. Be assured we are asking to verify information as required by Medicare and/or your insurance carrier.

    Cards and Flowers

Cards and flowers will be delivered on a regular basis by our volunteers. Items received after your discharge will be sent to your home or returned to the florist as needed.

    Gift Shops

The Gifts from the Heart Gift Shop, located in the main lobby of our facility, offers a variety of items ranging from personal items to exciting baby gifts. If you forgot an item or would like to purchase a gift, we might have just what you need. If you are interested in a particular item, please feel free to call 6480 and a friendly volunteer will assist you.

    Personal Electronic Appliances

If you have brought an electric razor, hair dryer, or other small appliance, please give it to a member of the nursing staff to have a safety check performed by our Plant Services Department. These items cannot be used until checked for potential fire and electric shock hazards.

    Personal Belongings

We ask that you bring only the essentials, such as toiletries, robe, pajamas, and slippers. Please label your belongings. This will increase the likelihood of retrieval if an item is misplaced.

If you have any valuables that cannot be sent home, please ask a nurse to place these items in safekeeping. The hospital cannot assume responsibility for items not placed in safekeeping. Itemized information regarding your valuables will be noted on your chart.

    Pursuit of Excellence

This program was designed to help us continually provide excellent customer service. Although there are many facets to this program, one of the most important is our patient survey card.

When you visit the hospital as an outpatient, the admissions personnel may give you a short survey card and request that you complete it. After you complete your card, please drop it in one of the wooden suggestion boxes located by the patient elevator on every floor.

You may be asked to participate in a phone interview to evaluate your satisfaction with our care. A person from The Jackson Organization may telephone you following your inpatient discharge or outpatient test to ask a few questions regarding your experience at St. Rose Ambulatory & Surgery Center.

Your feedback will be used to thank employees who have done a good job and to identify ways we can improve our service. We are grateful for your participation.

    Room Changes

In order to accommodate an increase or decrease in patients you may be asked to move to a different room. Decisions to move you will be based on need. If at anytime you are dissatisfied with your room accommodations, please contact your nurse.

    Smoking Policy

St. Rose ASC is committed to providing the safest and healthiest environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Smoking is not permitted in any area of the medical center or related buildings. There are designated smoking areas on the grounds. Please ask any staff member for the location of these areas.

    Visiting Hours

Normal visiting hours are 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. daily. For children under six, please request the house supervisor's permission. Children under 12 years of age must be in the company of a responsible adult. At all times please be sensitive to our patients' need for quiet and rest.

Persons who have recently been ill or have had an infection are discouraged from visiting. Visitors with an obvious infectious disease will be asked to leave the hospital. Patients are discouraged from visiting in other patients' rooms. Visitors must check with the primary nurse before entering the room of a patient in isolation as designated by a sign on the door.

    Medical/Surgical Visiting Hours
A family member is encouraged to be in the hospital while the patient is in surgery.

    Pediatric Visiting Hours
Parents or significant others are not restricted to regular visiting hours.

Any exceptions to normal visiting hours must be approved by the House Supervisor / Nurse Manager

    Volunteers

Volunteers support St. Rose ASC in a variety of ways. We are privileged to have such a dedicated group of men, women, and teens that give their time and talents so that others may benefit. The caring seeds they plant blossom in the kindness provided to our customers and staff.

Volunteers serve us at the information/escort desk, Gifts from the Heart Gift Shop, Heartland Cancer Center, Golden Belt Home Health & Hospice, as Eucharistic ministers and for many other departments, projects, and services.

Annually, our volunteers serve more than 20,000 hours.

Volunteers are always needed at St. Rose ASC
